Job Description: Affordable Solar’s residential and commercial solar division is looking for a motivated, results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales and marketing effort. The successful candidate that joins our team will be responsible for leading and managing our existing team of Solar Consultants as well as recruiting as the team grows. The person who joins our team will be responsible for business development, developing marketing strategy, sales training, improving the sales materials, remaining current with market trends, improving team close ratios, training and motivating the sales team. Our Director of Sales will give pricing guidance and market information to the sales team, and coordinate with upper management to develop competitive market offerings.


Key Accountabilities: 

  • Responsible for ensuring sales goals are met
  • Train, manage and lead 2 sales teams
  • Build sales team for new B2B initiative
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine market potential and to monitor customers’ preferences, as well as ensure targeted close ratios are being met
  • Advise the sales representatives on ways to improve their sales performance
  • Develop motivational material, keep sales materials current, tailor and improve sales presentation
  • Develop new product messaging and sales materials as necessary
  • Weekly meetings with each solar consultant to review metrics and coach

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • At least five years of experience managing a sales team
  • Solar sales experience a benefit
  • Experience driving new initiatives and strategies
  • Must be able to independently problem solve
  • Able to perform well in a high energy environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
